Eligibility for admission in MBA distance learning IGNOU

The candidate must have a bachelor’s degree and three years of professional experience or a professional degree such as engineering, medicine, technology, law, architecture or pharmacy. A student with professional qualifications such as cost and works accountancy, company secretary ship or any other in accountancy is also eligible for the MBA distance learning course from IGNOU. A candidate with master’s degree in any discipline too is eligible to appear for OPENMAT. For students residing outside India, they must have a valid visa for the minimum duration of the program.

IGNOU MBA fee structure

The course fee of MBA is to be paid at the time of admission which is Rs 800 per course. This includes the cost of study material, counselling and examination fee also.

OPENMAT is a three hour examination containing 200 multiple choice questions in the following sections:

30 questions- Reasoning

50 questions- English language

50 questions- Quantitative aptitude

MBA Distance Learning Prospectus availability

To apply for the MBA’s distance learning program of Symbiosis a student needs to first acquire a prospectus with the application form in a welcome kit offered by the institute. The prospectus can be taken from the cash counter in the head office of Symbiosis in Pune. With the cash payment of Rs. 900 only the application form and the prospectus can be taken. This welcome kit is also available in the Symbiosis Nasik Information Centre. If the request of the welcome kit is to be sent through post, one has to include a Demand Draft of Rs. 1100 from within India. If one is sending the post outside India a Demand Draft of $ 75 needs to be sent. Please note that the cost of the prospectus and the form is non-refundable.

Symbiosis distance learning MBA admission procedure

The Symbiosis Distance Learning MBA admissions of 2012 will commence in the month of April. For getting admission here one needs to fill up the admission form and send it to the main office in Pune along with the registration fees and the required documents mentioned in the prospectus. If the candidate is found to be eligible to get admission in the MBA distance learning course he/she is sent the admission letter, identity card and the welcome kit. The students aspiring to get admission in this course can also visit the office and do the formalities. The welcome kit along with the identity card and welcome kit will thereby be sent to the candidate via post on the mentioned address.

There is also a case of provisional admission that is granted to some students. The reason behind this can be un-attested documents, incomplete documents, incomplete or unsigned application form, missing photographs or in special cases even missing service certificates for defence personnel, missing name change certificates or lack of visa copy of foreign applicants. In such cases the students are given a deadline till when they need to submit all the necessary or missing documents. Lack of submission of the documents the student will be subject to cancellation of his/her admission to MBA distance learning course from Symbiosis.

In case a student applies for admission in the MBA course through distance learning after the stipulated date has passed late admission facility can also be granted to the candidate. Along with all the necessary documents the students need to submit an additional late fee of Rs 250 for Indian students and US $ 25 for NRI students. This has to be sent to the Director of the Symbiosis Centre for Distance Learning, MBA. Then it solely depends on the Director whether he/she grants admission into Symbiosis to the student or not. Late admission application forms are accepted until two month after the stipulated date has passed and not beyond it.
