Festivals like: Autumn Fest (Annual automotive fest), Sparsh (cultural fest), Mindbend (technical fest) and MMNCT (Manoj Memorial Night Cricket Tournament) are regularly organised every year.

Undergraduate course offered at Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology, Surat, is Bachelor of Engineering or B.E. Admission into this course is possible through AIEEE examination. Post graduate courses offered at SVNIT are Master in Technology or M.Tech and Master in Engineering or M.E. Students with GATE scores are preferred to be admitted into M.tech. PhD courses are also offered here. As soon as the AIEEE and GATE results are out admissions into SVNIT, Surat start taking place.
