Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT), Nagpur is also called NIT, Nagpur. As the name suggests the college was named after Sir M. Visvesvaraya. [hana-code-insert name=’rectangle’ /]When the institute was formed it was called Visvesvaraya Regional College of Engineering and it was among the first 6 Regional Colleges of Engineering. VNIT was established with the combined efforts of the State and the Central Government. It has been awarded the status of a Deemed University by UGC. Alumni of VNIT, Nagpur scale the heights of success after gaining knowledge from the institute. Before even the students pass out 95% of the students are already placed into esteemed organisations through campus recruitment.

NIT, Nagpur Campus

The campus stretches over a total area of about 214 acres and is 8 kilometres and 7 kilometres away from the Nagpur railway station and the Nagpur airport respectively. The location of the campus is serene and beautiful as it is situated near the river Nag Nadi and is covered with beautiful trees and plantations. There are a total of 7 boys’ and 2 girls’ hostels. Each hostel has its individual messes, sports areas, entertainment and other recreational areas, internet and housekeeping facilities.
